The Importance of Human Actions

Posted: October 25, 2008 in Uncategorized

Okay, back to theology.  Dr. Grudem argues that despite God working in ALL things “God has made us responsible for our actions, which have real and eternal consequences.”  How is this possible? It is a mystery but it is a paradox that Scripture affirms and, once again, because God is the author of Scripture (2 Tim. 3:16) and God cannot lie (Titus 1:2) then Scripture is without error and it teaches that our actions matter.

It is VERY important to remember that we are not called to know God’s will perfectly but simply to trust it wholeheartedly just as a child trusts a good parent.  It is also comforting on many levels to know that God uses all things for good, so that we can give thanks for what happens in our lives even great challenges.

Dr. Grudem goes on to analyze the Arminian or “free will position” to which he disagrees (as do I), however, I will not go into that section in depth…yet.

Besides, I’m friggin’ tired and I have to drag my butt out of bed to teach Bible study tomorrow morning at 8am.  So, more later including a review of the new so-called documentary “Religulous.”

Stay tuned.
