The Gospel All Around Us: Part 2

Posted: May 14, 2009 in Uncategorized

So, everyone knows something is wrong but the way most people choose to deal with it is to keep themselves busy.

In 1991, a drug addict from Seattle sang, “here we are now, entertain us” and this seems to be the raison d’etre for at least the last 3 generations.

If we dance enough, drink enough, etc. then we can forget about these questions until we are imminently faced with mortality.  It is no secret as to why so many unbelievers profess faith after the death of a friend…it is a stark reminder that we only have so much time to find an answer to the pangs within us that whisper there is more.

Mortality can be a powerful prophet and its not just people of faith that get it.  We see it everywhere from “My Name is Earl” to Nickelback.  It is simply stamped within our hearts and minds.
